Everybody is so excited around our house! Mommy says that Santa Claws will soon be here. I like that time of year because Safire, Sammy and I always get treats and toys. I know that Christmas is almost here because Mommy and Daddy have started taking pictures of me, Safire, and Sammy and she makes us wear costumes. Last year they took this picture:
It's fun to take the pictures but Sammy always makes it take longer because he won't stay still. Then Mommy gives us treats to try and get his attention but he doesn't like treats the way that Safire and I do. I guess Dachshunds aren't as hungry as Labs. Sammy DOES like carrots though. That gets his attention. Mommy lets me and Safire get our own carrots out of the refrigerator. She puts them on a shelf that we can reach so that whenever anyone opens the refrigerator door we can reach in and get them. I like carrots too!
I think we are going to be taking more pictures tonight so I'd better take a nap. I'll report back after the next picture session ....

My name is Liberty Belle and I am a 4-year-old female Dalmation. I live with my humans in a small town in Arkansas. I was adopted from an animal shelter a couple of years ago. I had lived with a couple of families but somehow I always ended up back at the shelter. The shelter is a "kill" shelter and they are supposed to kill dogs after a period of time. I had been there for several months and the nice man who ran the place refused to kill me because he said that I was such a sweet dog and that I deserved a home. So as long as there was room at the shelter, he was going to let me live! And one day this really nice female human came in and adopted me and now I live with her and her husband.
My human family showed me your blog and I really want to get to know you better. You sure are cute!! I admit that I have a "thing" for labs. Whenever I see a lab, my heart races and my tail wags and I just have to run up and say hi. I have been known to try to drag my mistress down the street to meet a lab.
I am going to start my own blog with my human mother's help so I might be able to meet others. When I get my blog going, I'll let you know, Spencer.
